Last updated: June 3, 2026

Introduction

Privara Vault (“Privara,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides software that helps households organize emergency information, medical context, contacts, and family preparedness materials. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our website at privaravault.com, our mobile applications (including Android and iOS apps built with Capacitor that load our hosted product), and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. This policy is designed to meet Google Play and general app-store transparency requirements for apps that handle personal and sensitive user-provided data.

Information we collect

Privara Vault stores information you choose to enter. We do not sell your personal information. The categories below describe the types of data the Service may process:

Account and identity information

  • Email address and authentication identifiers
  • Account credentials managed through our authentication provider
  • Profile name and account preferences you set in the app

Emergency and household information (user-provided)

You may voluntarily store sensitive emergency and household data, including but not limited to:

  • Names — yours, family members, and emergency contacts
  • Addresses — home, work, or other locations you add to profiles or emergency cards
  • Emergency contacts — names, phone numbers, relationships, and contact notes
  • Medical information — conditions, medications, allergies, blood type, provider details, and other health-related notes you choose to record for emergency use
  • Family preparedness information — household plans, checklists, family tree data, life-map details, legacy instructions, and related continuity materials
  • Documents and vault items — files, photos, and records you upload or attach to your vault

You control what you enter. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you store and for who you share emergency links or exports with.

Billing information

  • Subscription status, plan tier, and billing references needed to authorize paid features (processed by Stripe; we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers)

Support communications

  • Information you send when contacting us by email (for example, your email address, message content, and any details you include to help us resolve your request)

Technical and usage information

  • Standard web and app connection data (such as IP address, browser or device type, and timestamps) generated when you access the Service over HTTPS
  • Error and diagnostic logs from our hosting infrastructure, limited to what is necessary to operate and secure the Service

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  1. Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  2. Authenticate you and secure your account
  3. Store and display your vault, emergency card, and household data at your direction
  4. Process subscriptions and manage billing through Stripe
  5. Respond to support requests sent to our contact email
  6. Send service-related notices (for example, account or security notifications when applicable)
  7. Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues
  8. Comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not use your emergency or medical information for advertising, and we do not sell personal information to third parties.

Third-party services

Privara Vault relies on trusted third-party providers to operate the Service. These providers process data only as needed to perform their functions and are subject to their own privacy policies:

  • Firebase Authentication (Google) — used for secure user sign-in, identity verification, and session management. Firebase may process your email address and authentication tokens. See Firebase Privacy.
  • Cloud Firestore (Google) — used as our cloud database to store account-linked data you submit, including emergency profiles, contacts, medical notes, and preparedness information, protected by security rules and access controls. See Google Cloud Privacy Notice.
  • Stripe — used for subscription checkout, payment processing, and billing portal. Stripe collects payment method details directly; we receive subscription status and customer references. See Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • Email support — when you email privaravault@gmail.com, your message is handled through our email provider for support purposes.
  • Hosting (Vercel) — our web application and API routes are hosted on Vercel, which may process request metadata necessary to deliver the Service over HTTPS.

Native Android and iOS apps load our hosted web application; data you enter is transmitted securely to the services above. We do not bundle unrelated advertising or analytics SDKs in the mobile shells beyond what is required to operate the Service.

Sharing and disclosure

We may share information only in these circumstances:

  • With service providers listed above, under contracts or terms that limit use to providing services to Privara
  • At your direction — for example, when you generate a first-responder share link or export emergency information you choose to share
  • For legal reasons — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users or the public
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required by law

We do not sell or rent personal information.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete specific records or close your account, we delete or anonymize data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, billing, dispute-resolution, or security purposes.

Backup copies may persist for a limited time consistent with our infrastructure providers' redundancy policies before being purged.

Security

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls, database security rules, and least-privilege access for operational systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you should use a strong password and keep your account credentials confidential.

For more detail, see our Data Security page.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your information, subject to legal exceptions
  • Export or receive a copy of your data in a portable format where feasible
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

EEA/UK residents (GDPR): You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our legal bases for processing include performance of our contract with you, legitimate interests in operating a secure emergency preparedness service, and compliance with legal obligations.

To exercise your rights, email privaravault@gmail.com. We may verify your identity before fulfilling requests that affect account-level data.

Children's privacy

Privara Vault is intended for use by adults and caregivers managing household emergency information. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction) without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without consent, contact us at privaravault@gmail.com.

International data transfers

Privara Vault is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. We take steps designed to ensure appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers where required by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where required, provide additional notice (such as in-app notification or email). Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
